From Grade 2 Happenings. This teacher is all about crates and storage. Great for a teacher who has students with autism. I love classrooms that are not a visual challenge for these kiddos. I made this bench out of milk crates zip-tied together. I then added a bench seat to the top. It is also zip-tied on. I bought the red crates at Lowes.

Ms. Fultz's Corner: Upcycled Crate Seat Tutorial I'm going to do this for our Library boxes. they will add more seats to the Family room, AND make the boxes nicer when at home full of books. I'll have to work out handles for taking the tops off easy. I may make one per kid so they can store there OWN school stuff/ Library books in them... nah not Library books, they share too much. LOL

Zip tie crates to make shelving. Hmmm... To help organize my literature units and or maybe put lessons in the crates for the literature units, so students can go through their lessons as they read. I think I will have a required finish time for the units, and teach specific skills a few times a week that relate to the unit lessons.

Crate seats...use plastic crates purchased from your local walmart, plywood cut to fit the top, foam, fabric and a staple gun. What a cute idea for a child's room or a classroom reading corner. The "seats" can lift off so you can use the crates for storage.
