Homemade Falafel (I would make into more of a cake shape and pan-fry instead of deep-frying)

Any way you make it, there is nothing like falafel's first bite: the crisp-fried exterior giving way to a creamy center of seasoned mashed beans, garlic, and parsley.

Homemade Falafel - Vegan the falafel: 2 cups roughly chopped white onion 6 garlic cloves 2 cups cooked chickpeas, drained 1 cup lightly packed parsley leaves 1 cup lightly packed cilantro leaves 1 teaspoon salt ¼ teaspoon chili powder 2 teaspoons cumin 2 teaspoons baking powder ½ cup all-purpose flour Canola oil, for sauteing Pita bread, for serving For the tahini sauce: 1¼ cups plain yogurt (full fat or non-fat) ¼ cup tahini (sesame paste) 2 Tablespoons fresh lemon juice

Made 4/9/12. Tips: Be sure to build your crust up high to hold in the hummus and yogurt. Definitely use plain greek yogurt and kalamata olives. More hummus, less yogurt. Moderately ok recipe.

!!!!HOMEMADE FALAFEL WITH TAHINI SAUCE--either half garlic/onions or (I used) double (2cans) chic peas and a pinch more cumin. Also needed to add a bit of water to tahini sauce. So delish. Sloan and Eleni loved. Served on naan bread with cucumber, toms, feta, and avocado. Delish.

How I Make Hummus - Pinch of Yum I added one can of undrained chickpeas and one can of drained. I also added tablespoon of lemon juice, did two garlic cloves instead of one, and added pepper and red pepper flakes.
