spray painted mason jars I saw a similar project in my Upcycling book using mini glass liquor bottles as bud vases. You can even use plain white puff paint (yes the stuff from the 80s) to add texture before you spray paint it.

DIY Figurines Empty cans or jars, toy figurines (such as Lego, plastic animals or KinderEgg-stuff), super glue and spray paint. Clean jars-plastic or glass-and remove labels. Glue figurines in place on lids, using super glue. Follow directions and spray paint when glue has dried-usually takes 10 min for paint to dry-spray several thin layers to get smooth surface.
