10/25- Happy Birthday, Pablo Picasso, Artist! 1881-1973. Picasso's "The Dream"

  • viole handmade

Pablo Picasso - Le Rêve (The Dream) It is a 1932 oil painting. He is portraying his 24-year-old mistress Marie-Thérèse Walter in this artwork. It belongs to Pablo Picasso’s period of distorted depictions, with its oversimplified outlines and contrasted colors resembling early Fauvism.

"This is the Colour of My Dreams" ~Joan Miró (partial view) Between 1924 and 1927, Miró created a group of paintings that are radically different from his earlier work. Known as peinture-poésie, these canvases, with broad and loosely brushed fields of color, are animated by just a few enigmatic signs.

Sandro Boticelli - "The Three Graces", one of the finest Renaissance painters, sculptors, and one who was influenced by Fra Savanarola, one wonders how many of the Boticelli masterpieces went into the Bonfire of the Vanities. I have seen this painting in the Uffizi Gallery, Florence.
