I read this an am thankful that my parents raised me the way they did. I am always the first person to say sorry, i don't hold grudges and I don't hate. I have been known to gossip a bit but not at someone else's expense. Wouldn't it be great if everyone lived by this.
Dieter F. Uchtdorf--just one of many "BREATHE" (i.e., "slow down" and regain perspective) quotes I love from him! This man, as are 14 others, is truly a prophet of God. I am so gratefuly for each of them and how they help me follow our Savior Jesus Christ! Implementing counsel I hear from them simplifies and makes my life happier. E-V-E-R-Y single time. !
"Those who diligently seek to learn of Christ eventually will come to know Him [and] personally receive a divine portrait of the Master, although it most often comes in the form of a puzzle—one piece at a time. Eventually, after enough pieces have been put together, we recognize the grand beauty of it all. Then, looking back on our experience, we see that the Savior had indeed come to be with us—not all at once but quietly, gently, almost unnoticed." –Dieter F. Uchtdorf
God is fully aware that you and I are not perfect. Let me add, God is also fully aware that the people you think are perfect are not. And yet, we spend so much time and energy comparing ourselves to others, usually comparing our weaknesses to their strengths... -Dieter F. Uchtdorf
In stories, as in life, adversity teaches us things we cannot learn otherwise. Adversity helps to develop a depth of character that comes in no other way. Our loving Heavenly Father has set us in a world filled with challenges and trials so that we, through opposition, can learn wisdom, become stronger, and experience joy.
Be patient with yourself, Be happy now, the "why" of the gospel will uplift you, Heavenly Father loves you!
