Gordon "Bobby" Orr b. March 20, 1948 is a Canadian former professional ice hockey player. Orr played in the NHL for his entire career, the first ten seasons with the Boston Bruins, joining the Chicago Black Hawks for two more. Orr is widely acknowledged to be one of the greatest hockey players of all time. A defenceman, Orr used his ice skating speed & scoring & play-making abilities to revolutionize the position. As of 2011, Orr remains the only defenceman to have won the league scoring title.
Bobby Orr Flies After His Stanley Cup-Winning Goal - In 1970 Bobby Orr scored an overtime goal to give the Boston Bruins their first Stanley Cup since 1941. Seconds after scoring what has now been dubbed "The Goal" Orr tripped, but it didn't stop him from celebrating. It resulted in this, one of the most famous and joy-filled sports photos of all time.
