These have become a weekend tradition in my kitchen. Butter Dips. Not quite as I imagined. Always forget that I am not a huge fan of buttermilk which strongly flavors these. Maybe next time I'll use milk. Pretty much as fluffy as I'd hoped.
Sugar Biscuits: Soft, sweet biscuits dipped in a vanilla glaze. Perfect baby shower or brunch item. These are so delicious & can be made ahead. "Let them sit until the glaze is totally set, a couple of hours at least. Biscuits and Sugar Butter 1 3/4 cups all purpose flour 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder 1 teaspoon fine sea salt 4 to 6 tablespoons salted butter at room temperature, plus 3 tablespoons melted butter 2/3 to 1 cup whole milk 1. Mississippi Sin Dip: 16 oz sour cream, 8 oz softened cream cheese, 2 c shredded cheddar, 1/2 c chopped ham, 1 chopped green onion, 1/4 tsp hot sauce, 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce, salt & pepper. Combine together then serve in a hollowed out loaf of French bread. Wrap in foil and bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour. Serve with bread cubes, chips or crackers.
