Those packages of pre-sliced apples you can buy at store are great for a healthy snack on the go but the price can add up. Make your own by slicing apples, soak in cold water for 3-5 minutes, then soak in a lemon-lime carbonated soda (such as 7-up or sprite) for 3-5 minutes. Divide into snack size portions and store in Ziploc bags in the fridge. The lemon-lime soda will keep the apples from browning and make them last longer. LOVE THIS IDEA!
When we saw this latest post for a Caramel Apple in A Jar, courtesy of The Gunny Sack, we thought it would make for the perfect party favor this Fall. Whether it's a Fall birthday, wedding or Halloween party or Thanksgiving Day brunch with extended family, these would be terrific to hand out to guests. This Caramel Apple In A Jar would also be a fun party favor for a Carnival or Circus themed party too!

Genius! Instead of using whole apples for caramel/chocolate apples use slices. Perfect for those little mouths that can't quite manage the big first bite of a whole fruit! Who we kidding...whole caramel apples are hard to eat.
