The Cone Nebula, the Christmas Tree Cluster, the Snowflake Cluster and the Fox Fur Nebula are all located in the Monoceros(Unicorn) constellation and are located about 2600 light-years from Earth.

Wispy Star Forming Region (W5): Westerhout 5 (Sharpless 2-199, LBN 667, Soul Nebula) is emission nebulae in Cassiopeia. Several small open clusters are embedded in the nebula. The object is more commonly called by the cluster designation IC1848. This complex is the eastern neighbor of IC1805 (Heart Nebula) and the two are often mentioned together as the "Heart and Soul".

Hubble Cone Nebula Photo

This photo from NASA's Hubble Space Telescope shows an ominous pillar of gas and dust known as the Cone Nebula. The image shows the top portion of the nebula that is 2.5 light years in height. The Cone Nebula is 2,500 light-years from Earth in the Monoceros constellation. The red halo of light seen around the pillar is caused when ultraviolet radiation causes hydrogen gas in the nebula to glow.

Arp 227 consists of two galaxies in the constellation Pisces: the large (250,000 light-years across) lenticular galaxy NGC 474 (also known as UGC 864) located about 93 million light-years away, and the spiral galaxy NGC 470 at about 95 million light-years away. They lie at a separation of about 160,000 light-years. - Credit: NASA

Tarantula Nebula - also known as 30 Doradus & NGC 2070 - located 170,000 light-years away from Earth in the large Megalannic Cloud (a neighboring galaxy).

Wide-field image showing the region of WR 25 and Tr16-244. This cluster is embedded within the Carina Nebula, an immense cauldron of gas and dust that lies approximately 7500 light-years from Earth in the constellation of Carina, the Keel.

The Heart Nebula (IC 1805) lies about 7500 light years away from Earth and is located in the constellation Cassiopeia. Beautiful Valentine’s...

Dumbell Nebula - a planetary nebula in the constellation Vulpecula, at a distance of about 1,360 light years.

Orion Nebula in Oxygen, Hydrogen, and Sulfur Image Credit Copyright: César Blanco González, The Orion Nebula spans about 40 light years and is located about 1500 light years away in the same spiral arm of our Galaxy as the Sun. The Great Nebula in Orion can be found with the unaided eye just below and to the left of the easily identifiable belt of three stars in the popular constellation Orion. The above image shows the nebula in 3 colors specifically emitted by hydrogen, oxygen sulfur…
