On the first day of school I write my kids a letter telling about myself, and then their task is to write a letter back to me. It gives the kids something simple to do while I deal with parents, school supplies and any other first day hiccups. The letters are really fun to read, and I save to look at again at the end of the year, it’s amazing to see their growth.
All Hands In display in a 5th grade classroom. Kids told all about themselves using their hand shape and we hung it around the room. This really was a fun and easy project for the first week of school.
Keeping Track of Anchor Charts: Take a picture, print it and file it in a binder before taking the poster off the wall. Teacher and students can refer to the binder even if the anchor chart isn't on the wall.
