French designer Christian Louboutin gained his fixation with ultra-high heels while dressing showgirls at Paris’s famous Folies-Bergère nightclub. Armed with a portfolio of shoe drawings, in 1981 he got a job at Charles Jourdan, later becoming an apprentice to Roger Vivier.
