North by Northwest (1959) is an Alfred Hitchcock film starring Cary Grant as Roger Thornhill, an advertising executive who is mistaken for a United States spy. Suspense reigns supreme as Thornhill attempts to uncover the hidden truth with the help of beautiful Eve Kendell (Eva Marie Saint) who happens to be an agent for the evil Mr. Vandamm.

Alfred Hitchcock's Rope First of all it's a Hitchcock and Stewart film so that makes it awesome from the start, but what is so great about this movie is that you know from the very beginning who the murderer is and that the entire movie takes place in one setting - the murderer's home.
