"The Princess Academy" by: Shannon Hale -- An excellent book for tween and teen girls about loving yourself, finding your place in the world, and following your heart. I really enjoyed this one!

An amazing adventure that has everything: love, loss, courage, cowardice, strength, weakness, intrigue, war, peace and friendship. I've read it more than a dozen times and every time is just as thrilling as the first time. I cannot explain why, but this has been my favorite book since I was 12 years old. :)

Pretty much the entire period from the end of the bar exam until I find out if I passed is booked. #lawschoolproblems

Best read-aloud for 11 year olds EVER. This is my 29th year of teaching...14th year in 5th grade; trust me. KIDS LOVE THIS BOOK. Great way to start the school year, discussing rules. Wonderful story to introduce CONFLICT in lit.

Caddie Woodlawn by Carol Ryrie Brink. The adventures of eleven-year-old Caddie growing up with her six brothers and sisters in the Wild West frontiers of Wisconsin in the late 1800s.
