Stairs you can walk under, love the idea of no wasted floor and open space. I went to a friend's parents house when I was young, and the hallway had book shelves on each side, everything in the house was antique right down to the magazines on the coffee table....And all her utensils in the kitchen, and a beautiful home made headboard in the bedroom, beautifullly carved too...

Love the open staircase and window seat--I want to curl up on that window seat with a book.

Love the texture of the somewhat distressed wood stairs. Also see how the wall is decorated, how it is full of light.

Book staircase! What a great space-saver for a part of the house that has always seemed awkward to me.

I've never seen this before. LOVE the black staircase!

Love the openness of the two cases. Wish we could something like this with the basement staircase that runs under the main stairs.
