I did not add vinegar to mine. I made 2 QTS. and just used 1 & 1/2 c. Conditioner filling rest with VERY hot water.

I don't understand the need for vinegar. It's very harsh (i burned a wart off with it). I tried making this once with vinegar and hated the smell. It turned out nice with just conditioner and water.

FYI The vinegar is to (cut) the sudsing action of the soap

On her blog she said it worked for softness but not the same fresh scent as store bought... what if you would add essential oils?

Homemade fabric softener - I absolutely LOVE this! Works better than Snuggle, IMO - I did have an extremely faint smell of vinegar in my bath towels (not in the hand towels, washcloths, or any other article of clothing) I used Suave - since you can buy one bottle for a dollar - but really, you maybe save about two dollars....I would still choose this over store bought any day.

Homemade Fabric Softener-3 cups HOT Tap Water 1 cup Conditioner (I used Tropical Coconut from Suave) 1 and 1/2 cups White Vinegar

FABRIC SOFTENER: 1 part hair conditioner 1 part white vinegar 2 parts water Pour it all in your new fabric softener container and stir (dont shake because it will foam a little) and the mixture will thicken. Use like normal.

I make my own laundry dry soap.I found after grating the soap if you put it in your blender it will make it fine and will mix in better.Soap will wash off blender parts if you put them in the dish washer.
