old & new, high & low, vintage & modern, rock & refined -- the last of which, applies literally to this utterly stunning bathroom, with its modern concrete walls and rustic pebble-tiled floor, perfectly set against glamorous golden fixtures and palest pink . . .
Technically a wet room is a shower within a bathroom with a barrier-free floor, level with its surroundings. the shower remains a central component. The shower area is open, at one end of the room, or partially sectioned off with a wall or screen. One reason a house owner may consider a wet room is to save space.
Wetrooms—a luxurious and clever idea for a small bathroom. I lock the whole bathroom while taking a shower, so why not use the whole bathroom? Why spend so much time and money trying to make shower enclosures look good? (They're hideous.) Do away with them and have clean, beautifully-tiled, waterproof zen space in your bath for the same budget as sprucing up a shower and bathroom.
