    Here's a nonstandard measurement activity where students measure objects in both regular and mini marshmallows.

    "How Tall am I?" Flower Sprouts with the kids' names on the flowers. This would be great as a beginning and end of the year activity! I can just imagine how much the kids would giggle over their comparisons :-)

    Measurement: Students place wiggly worms in order according to length. Pre-cut strips of green construction paper in various lengths and have the children pick a piece. They cut out and decorate their worms any way they want. Put them in order as a class.

    Class Messages. This one is for Measurement and planting seeds - Jack and the Beanstalk. You could write messages and sign them from different characters/animals to fit your weekly theme/story...Brown Bear, Pete the Cat, Little Quack, Goldilocks, etc.

    Hands on measurement activity requiring students to fly paper airplanes and then measure the distance traveled! Students love it :)
