Observatory at Hard Labor Creek in Rutledge (40 min away) " I have to say it was fantastic! We got to see Saturn, Pluto, and more. The staff was very nice & knowledgeable. They answered all kinds of questions and did it in a way that the children could understand. I absolutely loved it & of course the best part was that it was FREE!" Georgia State University's Hard Labor Creek Observatory will be open to the public one Saturday per month from March until October.
I have so many memories of great days at this park. From jazz in the noon-time to seeing my son play in the rings, to our annual water balloon fight with the kids at work, to 4th of july fireworks. This is the best thing to come out of 1996!
