Hyacinth Bean Vine, great plant started with seed. I have been planting these for over 5 years from seeds taken each year. Plant in full sun. These are spectacular. Never buy seeds after your first harvest. Put the seed in between wet paper towels and place inside a zip lock type bag. They will germinate faster and then transplant when the ground begins to warm...

This is so cool. I wonder if copper would mesh too badly with a cake pan I've been saving for planting in, it looks to be as deep as that dish. I have a copper pot, it's a mock gravy dish thing which would work perfectly if I can make a stand for it. Any ideas on what could be turned into a stand to combine the two? MV.
Pretty! soooo clever using the tails for water. LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS. ~ Di

Propagating-SUCCULENTS- I have been doing this for a longtime - BREAK OFF a leave and leave it for a day or two to dry out at the bottom. I use cutting sand -bought from my Garden Centre. I pour it into one big dish or multiple dishes ,water it. pop the leave into the sand a little bit, some people just lay them on the sand, I dont. Water to keep the sand from drying out. SOON you will have a little tiny minature of the original growing. Use this to make gifts galore

Lily-of-the-Valley Don't let this little beauty fool you -- though it's small, lily-of-the-valley packs a big fragrance in its nodding white or pink bell-shape flowers. It's a tough, low-care groundcover you can practically plant and forget in shady spots. Name: Convallaria selectionsLily-of-the-Valley How can such a tiny flower give off such a tremendous scent? Tiny lily of the valley sends up its lovely little sprays of bell-like white or pale pink flowers each spring. Allow it to spread a little (which it does, so much that it can be a problem) and it will perfume the whole area with its distinctive scent. It also makes adorable, tiny bouquets. It makes a good groundcover in small areas. Lily of the valley prefers shade and moist soil. In sunny or dry conditions, its leaves will brown. It can easily become invasive, so it's smart to put it in an area where it will be difficult to spread too far, such as a blocked in by a driveway or sidewalk. Light: Part Sun, Shade Type: Bulb, Perennial Height: Under 6 inches Width: 6-12 inches wide Flower Color: Pink, White Seasonal Features: Spring Bloom Problem Solvers: Deer Resistant, Groundcover, Slope/Erosion Control Special Features: Cut Flowers, Fragrance, Good for Containers, Low Maintenance Zones: 3-9 plant lily-of-the-valley with Perennial geranium Perennial geranium One of the longest bloomers in the garden, hardy geranium bears little flowers for months at a time. It produces jewel-tone, saucer-shape flowers and mounds of handsome, lobed foliage. It needs full sun, but otherwise it is a tough and reliable plant, thriving in a wide assortment of soils. Many of the best are hybrids. Perennial geraniums may form large colonies. Leadwort Leadwort For a fall show, plant leadwort. Its gentian-blue late-season flowers often continue to bloom even as the foliage turns brilliant red-orange in fall, making an outstanding autumn display. This plant is also sometimes called plumbago, but it's different from shrubby tropical plumbago. Use it as a groundcover that spreads well when in conditions it likes -- dry sites in full sun to partial shade. Hosta Hosta This plant hardly grown 40 years ago is now one of the most commonly grown garden plants. But hosta has earned its spot in the hearts of gardeners -- it's among the easiest plants to grow, as long as you have some shade and ample rainfall.Hostas vary from tiny plants suitable for troughs or rock gardens to massive 4-foot clumps with heart-shape leaves almost 2 feet long that can be puckered, wavy-edged, white or green variegated, blue-gray, chartreuse, emerald-edged -- the variations are virtually endless. Hostas in new sizes and touting new foliage features seem to appear each year. This tough, shade-loving perennial, also known as plaintain lily, blooms with white or purplish lavender funnel-shape or flared flowers in summer. Some are intensely fragrant. Hostas are a favorite of slug and deer.
Lily of the Valley - good ground cover in shade garden -- for the day when I actually have a yard
My favorite flower: Don't let this little beauty fool you -- though it's small, lily-of-the-valley packs a big fragrance in its nodding white or pink bell-shape flowers. Why a tomato cracks and what to do about it plus other tomato problems
Why a Tomato Cracks and What to Do About It Tomato cracks (sometimes called “growth cracks”) are a problem associated with growing conditions. Dry weather that gives way to excessive watering or a rainy period can lead to cracking. Here’s what happens when a tomato cracks: Tomato plants get too much water too fast. A tomato’s interior grows quickly as it absorbs the extra water from rain or disproportionate watering, but it expands too fast.
