Better Than Takeout Orange Chicken

Serves 6


1 1/2 cut into cubes 2 lbs boneless skinless chicken breasts or thighs, boneless skinless


1/2 tsp Garlic
1/2 tsp Ginger, root
2 tbsp Green onion
1 tbsp Zest, orange


2 Eggs


2 1/2 tbsp Soy sauce

Baking & Spices

1 cup Brown sugar, packed
1 11/16 cups Cornstarch
1/4 tsp Pepper
1/4 tsp Red pepper flakes
1/4 tsp Salt

Oils & Vinegars

1 Oil
1/3 cup Rice vinegar

Bread & Baked Goods

1 cup Panko bread crumbs


1/4 cup Orange juice


1 5/8 cups Water

    Better than takeout Orange Chicken recipe! This is absolutely DELICIOUS! Making the chicken this way is very time consuming, but the sauce isn't too hard to make and it's YUMMY! Maybe serve the sauce on frozen chicken nuggets?

    Better Than Takeout Orange Chicken: I was pleased with the results, but felt like it was a lot of work. I don't really enjoy frying food; it makes a mess & I have to do it in batches in order to make enough for my family. If I were to use this frying method again, I would just buy bottled sauce to simplify the dinner prep.
