Cocoa and zimtsterne, these have become a tradition in our house at Christmas time.

All the fixings for homemade hot chocolate including chocolate covered marshmallow stirrers!! Put together in an etched jar that is easy to DIY... who knew?

In each jar layer one cup powdered milk, one cup unsweetened cocoa, 3/4 cup sugar, 3/4 cup chocolate chips, 3/4 cup round peppermint candies (or crushed peppermint candy canes). To enjoy, mix cocoa in a large bowl and add 1/3 cup mix to a mug, fill mug with hot water.

INGREDIENTS: 2 cups powdered sugar 1 cup cocoa (Dutch-process preferred) 2 1/2 cups powdered milk 1 teaspoon salt 2 teaspoons cornstarch DIRECTIONS: To Make The Mix 1. In a large bowl, combine all ingredients and whisk until evenly incorporated. 2. Pour hot cocoa mix into an airtight container and store in a cool, dry place. note: Alton brown recommends adding a pinch of cayenne pepper to the mix
