      Kids sewing project, have them draw a picture then create a pattern and have fun using up your scraps. Family Fun suggests fiberfill, but I think you could also use dried beans, peas or rice and make these into bean bags. (remeber to encase your beans, peas, or rice, otherwise it could leak or be attractive to bugs!

    Have students design a secret monster and write a detailed description to go with it. Have students exchange their monster description with a friend and see how close their friend can recreate their monster based on the discription given. Descriptive writing!
