The Old Stage ~ is a name used to refer to the original Royal Danish Theatre built in 1874 located on Kongens Nytorv. The performing arts institution of Denmark was founded in 1748, first serving as the theatre of the king, and then as the theatre of the country.

Carlsberg, the fifth biggest brewery in the world originates from Copenhagen and is one of the largest Danish companies. At the visitor center in Valby, just outside the city center, is the Carlsberg Beer Museum. As part of the museum they have some Dutch brewery horses. The horses and wagens still parade around Copenhagen from time to time.

Hans Christian Andersen was not immediately famous for his works. In fact, it was not until his forties that he found fame and fortune. He was considered to be an unattractive man and speculation is that "The Ugly Duckling" was written about himself. Though, many children love his works, Hans Christian Andersen never married and had no children.
