Every couple of months sprinkle a mixture of baking soda and a tablespoon of your favorite fabric softener over your mattress, let it sit for an hour, and then vacuum it up. I use white vinegar in place of fabric softener in every load, but haver never tried the baking soda.

I put a few orange peels in a huge thing of vinegar from Costco. Makes the perfect fabric softener!!


Great for all the pool towels this summer! Over time, towels build up detergent and fabric softener, leaving them unable to absorb as much water and smelling funky. Recharge them by washing them once with hot water and one cup vinegar, then a second time with hot water and half cup baking soda. This strips the residue and leaves them fresh and able to absorb more water again. Works like a charm!
