Library Card - when I was a kid you had to sign your name on the library book card to check it out. It was so fun to read them to see who had checked out the book before you.
LIbrary Cards one in each library book. You signed your name, the librarian stamped the card and the book with the date it was due back.
Library Card...I just bought a ton of old library books...just for those old cards....from my former high school.

Things Remembered, Childhood Memories, 90 S Kid, Elementary School, Memory Lane
Pencil sharpener - still the best kind and getting to empty it and bang the chalky erasers against the brick outside to clean them, was a BIG deal in elementary school.

The good old days of negatives with pictures.
Film Negatives, 70 S, Childhood Memories, Taking Pictures, Photo Negatives, Memory Lane, Film Camera, 80 S
Taking pictures with a film camera you always got a set of negatives with your pictures in case you wanted to make another print. You would have to keep them forever - just in case
Negatives in the good old days of film. It wasn't really that long ago that I had a film camera. I was kind of late getting a digital camera. I'm glad that I don't have to buy film any more.
negatives in the good old days of film. Kodak film....110 or 35 mm....you purchased by number of exposures...12, 24, 36....when you finished taking pictures...you had to press button on camera and reroll the film back in canister...before opening back of camera..then took film to drug store and dopped it off to be developed..it.usually took a week! you got the negatives back with pictures and they were numbered so you could order reprints.
Camera photo negatives - holding them up to the light to try figure out what the images were.
"negatives in the good old days of film." Photo negatives are what results when exposed camera film has been developed in the proper chemical process. From these negatives, photographs can be printed by an enlarger on light-sensitive paper designed for that purpose. The quality of the negative is paramount to getting a good photograph. The frequency of photographs taken with film by the general public is decreasing dramatically as the popularity of digital photography increases.
negatives in the good old days of film. I miss film cameras.

Drive-In Movie Sound System.....Speakers at the drive in...one for your car...one for the car on the other side of you....what fun it was!!!!
Drive, Movie Theater, Movie Speaker, Drive In, Baby Boomer
Drive-In Reminiscing I saw this picture going around Facebook - does anyone remember these? Well, as a child of the 60’s and 70’s, I sure do!! In fact, I’m lucky to live near a place where these are still being used – the Drive-In movie theater. The antique looking speakers are still in position at one of the few drive-in theaters we have left in Minnesota.

A&W ...root beer float..yum we used to go the drive in root beer stand and the waitress would bring the order and put it on the car just like this
I remember going to the A for a Baby Burger and Root Beer Float in the 70's....rolling around in the back of the station wagon with my brother & sister. Sometimes Mom would get Dad to buy a jug of Root Beer to take home. We'd chug it right from the bottle. Good Times!!
drive - in restaurants with carhops. Mom used to take us to Sydney's Drive-In in Woflin Village in Amarillo when we were kids in the fifties. Dad would take us to A Rootbeer stand for root beer floats. And this is why I go to Sonic as often as possible!

Before microwave popcorn we had this...Jiffy Pop is a popcorn brand of ConAgra Foods. The product combines unpopped popcorn kernels and oil with an aluminum pan and folded aluminum foil lid. As the pan is heated, the popping corn causes the foil to unfold and puff up. Jiffy in the name references the short cooking time.

This is Where We Did Our Research. If Not at Home then at the Library.
Book Encyclopedias, Childhood Memories, Memories Childhood, Internet Encyclopedia, Encyclopedia Set, Remember Growing
This was where we did our research! World Book Encyclopedias. No Internet back in the 50's and 60's!
Encyclopedias. These were our "Internet" and oh how I hated them so! We had about 70 on our shelf and it would take most of your homework time just trying to figure out which book the required information was in and oftentimes you still couldn't find anything very helpful! #Childhood Memories #1970s #1980s
World Book Encyclopedia every home had a set before the computers and the internet! Encyclopedia Britanica was ours.
I actually have these.. they once belonged to my grandma and I couldn't part with these I think I have from the late 60's to the mid 80's. Wonderful!!!
In the 60's....this was where we did our research! World Book Encyclopedias and we also had Encyclopedia Britannica
World Book Encyclopedia set. I looked at our set all the time and then even tried my hand at selling them in my early 20's
These were our Internet--Encyclopedia Britanica. We had the World Book Encyclopedia also.

Had these every night that my mom worked 3rd shift & my dad was in charge of dinner. We usually watched Three's Company, Good Times or The Jefferson's while we ate. Those were the good 'ol days!
TV Dinners....oh how I loved these when I was a kid!!! My mom had white, plastic trays that the TV dinner fit in too...oh the good ole days!!!
TV Dinners....I actually thought these were good when they were in the aluminum trays...."special treat"
TV dinners served on tv trays in the living room those special nights of the year... The night Wizard of Oz came on tv, or Willy Wonka, or Sunday night's Wonderful World of Disney!
Frozen TV dinners to be eaten, you guessed it, on a TV tray in front of the TV. They came in aluminum trays back then.
TV Dinners were a treat for when Mom and Dad had a babysitter for their night out. TV trays...and TV dinners .. we loved it!
TV Dinners seemed like such a treat. Nothing says home cooking like this! And served on a TV tray gave you extra points!
The 60s TV dinner--look at that, it has 3 pieces of chicken! Eaten, of course, on TV trays.
TV dinners in aluminum trays...a special treat!
