Vintage library card
sigh...i remember these....you used to look and see who else you knew checked out your school library book. the world was a better place with these in them!
Library Book, Checkout Card
LIbrary Cards - I remember always looking at the checkout cards to see who else had read the book...
When I was ten, I read fairy tales in secret. Now that I am 50 I read them openly. When I became a man I put away childish things, including the fear of childishness. C.S. Lewis

library cards - the kind that lived in the pockets of library books when the books were on the shelves.
Library Cards ~ My name is/was on many, many of these cards... at school and our public library. Books were shelved according to the Dewey decimal system and you had to look through the card file to find your books dewey numbers...
Library cards to check out books from the 1930's! Lasted till the 90's!

My friend's 12 year old son asked me
haha i remember when my parent's cars had these!
90 S, 80S, Childhood Memories, Funny Stuff, So True, Memory Lane, 80 S, Manual Windows
I never really thought about this, but it's so true! I said "Dial her phone number for me." the other day and my daughter said "Why do we dial when we are pressing buttons?"
So true (my neon has automatic windows in the front seats and these ===> in the backseat!)
I have manual windows, and it really confuses children and even some adults....
Car windows had to be rolled down using a handle in the car door.
So true...going to be awhile for me, got roll down windows!
Car Window Cranks -so true!
hah oh childhood memories
the 90 s
The good old days of negatives with pictures.
70 S, Childhood Memories, Taking Pictures, Memory Lane, Film Camera, 80 S
Taking pictures with a film camera you always got a set of negatives with your pictures in case you wanted to make another print. You would have to keep them forever - just in case
negatives in the good old days of film. Kodak film....110 or 35 mm....you purchased by number of exposures...12, 24, 36....when you finished taking pictures...you had to press button on camera and reroll the film back in canister...before opening back of camera..then took film to drug store and dopped it off to be developed..it.usually took a week! you got the negatives back with pictures and they were numbered so you could order reprints.
"negatives in the good old days of film." Photo negatives are what results when exposed camera film has been developed in the proper chemical process. From these negatives, photographs can be printed by an enlarger on light-sensitive paper designed for that purpose. The quality of the negative is paramount to getting a good photograph. The frequency of photographs taken with film by the general public is decreasing dramatically as the popularity of digital photography increases.

Childhood Memories, Unpopped Popcorn, Pop Corn, Magic Treat, Jiffy Pop Popcorn, Popcorn Kernels, Microwave Popcorn
Before microwave popcorn we had this...Jiffy Pop is a popcorn brand of ConAgra Foods. The product combines unpopped popcorn kernels and oil with an aluminum pan and folded aluminum foil lid. As the pan is heated, the popping corn causes the foil to unfold and puff up. Jiffy in the name references the short cooking time.

Used @ home, but mostly camping (Smokey Mountain memories)... -Jiffy Pop: popcorn brand by ConAgra Foods. Combines popcorn kernels & in an aluminum pan w/ folded aluminum foil lid. When bottom of pan gets heated, the popping corn causes the foil to unfold & puff up. The word Jiffy references to the short cook time. @Lauren Davison Davison Owens, www.laurenowensphotography.com Looks quite a bit like our living room growing up. Console TV, brown, inexpensive (re:cheap) paneling. Yep.
Wood paneling, heavy box TVs that look like a piece of furniture (with clunky dials for VHF and UHF), bunny ear antennas and tchotchkes. Um, don't look at my paneled wall in my living room.

Pencil sharpener. My elementary school classrooms had these, and blackboards. Imagine that...had one at home too...before Bic!
Pencil sharpener - still the best kind and getting to empty it and bang the chalky erasers against the brick outside to clean them, was a BIG deal in elementary school.
Classroom pencil sharpener.--I still have one--nothing beats a good old fashioned, non-electrical, pencil sharpener!

Wonder how many Mtv Logo designs were created and shown ? Ah I remember when Music Television actually had music on it.
For 8th Grade Banquet- Print out colored copies of various MTV logos to put in table centerpieces
Variations on the MTV logo. Pat Gorman and Frank Olinsky of Manhattan Design, c. 1985. The partners introduced the concept of a logo with a constantly changing persona, which ran contrary to the widely held belief that trademarks and visual identifiers should be absolutely fixed and used in a consistent manner. A harbinger of motion graphics, the MTV logo played a major role in redefining visual identity in the electronic age, both for electronic media and print.

A&W Root Beer Stands
Drive, Drive In
drive - in restaurants with carhops. Mom used to take us to Sydney's Drive-In in Woflin Village in Amarillo when we were kids in the fifties. Dad would take us to A Rootbeer stand for root beer floats. And this is why I go to Sonic as often as possible!

1970, 1980, 70 S, Childhood Memories, Astronauts Drank, Memory Lane, Grandma, Orange Juice
Orange Tang Powdered Drink - The astronauts drank it and so did we! It was marketed as healthier than fresh orange juice!
Pretty sure they still make this - but I have such fond memories of my grandma making me Tang to go with lunch -"It's what the astronauts drink" she'd say...every.single.time. My daughter when she was little called it Tango. Really, either way, it's a winner in my book.
Tang! I remember my mother-in-law made this nasty stuff in the place of real orange juice..I think it was something the astronauts drank...
I still love my Tang. A favorite childhood memory. Because, you know, the astronauts drank it! :)
