Remember The Horse of a Different Color in the Wizard of Oz? That was my favorite movie while growing up, and still is, I might add. Enter the Horse of a Different Color hobby horse! What better way of recognizing that classic old movie and those ruby slippers than in the horse's eyes, as they sparkle with ruby hearts like the famous ruby slippers.

I changed a number of things. Made nostrils with buttons (thanks Marlys). Put the entire bridle pieces around the head and top. When I put the stick in, I had my husband drill a hole 1 inch from the top, then another just above the bottom of horse neck. I threaded yarn through each hole so it would be sturdier. It was fun!
