*Grandmothers Cabbage Rolls*1 cabbage,1 lb ground beef,1 med onions,1 c rice,salt,pepper, 1 can tomato soup,1 can water .Cook rice drain sit aside.Cook beef & onions,add salt & pepper.Boil cabbage leaves to soften. Mix rice & beef mixture,put in leaves & roll up.Mix soup & water ,pour over cabbage rolls & cook in electric skillet on low about 20 minutes. Cool & serve.
Ground beef, brown rice, diced tomatoes and tom sauce stuff these green peppers. I do NOT parboil my peppers before baking them and they come out perfect. Just add boiling water to the bottom of the baking dish and cover with foil.
German Skillet Dinner 3 tbl butter or margarine 1/2 cabbage , chopped 2/3 c uncooked rice (I use minute rice) 1 med onion, chopped 2 lbs hamburger 1 can diced tomatoes or rotel tomatoes Salt and pepper to taste Melt butter in skillet, layer cabbage, uncooked rice, onion, raw crumbled hamburger, salt and pepper, then tomatoes. Cover with lid and simmer 25-35 minutes until rice, cabbage and burger are done. Do not stir or lift lid until done.
