The Maltese Falcon by Dashiell Hammett - Probably one of the best-known crime noir novels ever. The story follows private detective Sam Spade around as he unravels the mystery about a very precious and highly coveted artifact known as the Maltese Falcon. This novel was an enjoyable read. If you're a fan of hard-boiled detective fiction, pick this one up. (I'd also highly recommend Humphrey Bogart's movie adaptation)
