Recharge them by washing them once with hot water and one cup vinegar, then a second time with hot water and half cup baking soda. DIY Fabric Whitener It is SO simple and can’t believe that it works. You take one cup of cream of tartar (used in baking for some frosting to make them white, so that’s why this makes so much sense) and three cups of water. Mix together in a clean bucket and let your-at one time white shirts- soak and enjoy a fresh white shirt after washing in a regular cycle.
