This is stunning. A dream destination, a small cove of heaven surrounded by books and nature. This is pretty cool, but I probably wouldn't get much reading done because my eyes would keep wandering back to the windows.

The recent renovation of the Musashino University Library in Tokyo strips the idea of the library down to its most basic element–the bookshelf. That is, the library is constructed as one giant bookshelf, filling every inch of wall-space with more than 100,000 accessible volumes (there are another 100,000 volumes stored in closed-stacks in the basement).

wooden stairs and shelves, the smell must be amazing...

This combination bookcase/staircase is cool in theory but looks someone unresolved. It's sort of claustrophobic and I don't love how the grid of the bookcase doesn't align with each stair.
