Myrtle Corbin, the Four-Legged Woman | 16 Real Life Side Show Workers That Probably Inspired "American Horror Story: Freak Show"

Josephine Myrtle Corbin was born with a terrible deformity. Josephine was a siamese twin from her waist down. In effect, she had two separated pelvis, four legs and two vaginas. She was able to move the internal legs, even if she couldn't walk because they were too weak to hold up her weight. When she was 13 she joined the freakshows with the nickname "Four-Legged Girl from Texas"
ANTIQUE FREAK SHOW ----------- Myrtle Corbin, who was born in 1868 with an extra pelvis. Myrtle spent her early years in a circus sideshow.----- Distractify | 35 Vintage Creepy Photos You Just Can't Explain
Josephene Myrtle Corbin (Born May 12, 1868 in Lincoln County, Tennessee – Died May 6, 1928 in Cleburne, Texas) was a sideshow performer who became one of the most infamous cases of being a dipygus. This meant that she had two separate pelvises, a result of her body being halfway split down the middle as she was developing.

Myrtle Corbin - The lady with four legs Josephene Myrtle Corbin was born in Lincoln County, Tennessee in 1868. Born with a dipygus she had two basins separated side by side from the waist down. The extra legs were part of a twin that did not split correctly. Each of the smaller inner legs was paired with one of its outer legs.

Josephine Myrtle Corbin "The Four Legged Girl from Texas" (1868- 1928) born with dipygus, giving her two seperate pelvises. Had 2 functional reproductive systems. Myrtle spent her early years in a circus sideshow but later married a doctor. She raised five children and during her births of those 5 children, some came from one system and others from the other (using both of her two functional reproductive systems) and lived to the age of 60.
The celebrated Myrtle Corbin, who was billed as "The Four Legged Woman". Rather than having a parasitic twin, Myrtle’s extra legs resulted from an even rarer form of conjoined twinning known as dipygus, which gave her two complete bodies from the waist down. She had two small pelvises side-by-side, and each of her smaller inner legs was paired with one of her outer legs. She could move the smaller legs but was unable to use them for walking.
