    This reminds me of my grandparents farm. The hay meadow always had so many different wild flowers. Family members transplanted many of them to our flower gardens. My favorites are the three kinds of purple phlox that ranged from 18 inches to 3 feet tall, and the pink primroses. However, the hay meadow grew much taller than this.

    I love the use of low-growing ground cover to define a garden path. This one is a mown path through the wildflower meadow at Great Dixter leading to a gate. Buttercups and Ox eye daisies, Leucanthemum vulgare
