New Student Packets - this teacher makes 5 extra of everything at the beginning of the school year so that when a new student comes midyear, she has a name tag, beginning of the year info, labels for folders/journals, etc. for the student. Good planning!
I could create this with each statement as a separate strip of paper, and then the kids can organize it as they decide who is responsible for what. I would also make some blank ones for us to add. This would would be done in groups and shared as a whole class.
Students have to write in a log every time they do not turn in their homework on time and explain themselves. This helps teachers keep track of how many times the same student does not do his/her homework, makes students think about why they did not do their homework, and establishes accountability.
Organization is key, and many items in our classrooms and homes are sitting idle when they could easily be repurposed to aid in the effort. Do you have old plastic containers from the grocery store, milk crates, or old hardbound books? Use them as storage containers in your classroom.
