1951 washer :) you would run the clothes through the wringer attachment at the top (watch your fingers!) to get enough water out of them to hang on the line to dry. My mom's washer was stored on the porch, can't remember how she got warm water in it.

Old school pencil sharpener, I remember dreading to get up and sharpen my pencil in class. Everyone looks up and watches ya and then you take the pencil out and have to turn it a different way to get the other side sharp as well.
