Charles John Joughin was the Chief Baker on the Titanic. He fortified himself with whiskey during the sinking and was seen staggering around the deck throwing deck chairs into the water for people to hold onto. He himself went into the water and, although drunk, managed to swim to an overturned lifeboatand balance himself on the keel until another lifeboat picked him up.
