18th Century Wooden Doll with Shaped Body 18" (46 cm). One piece carved wooden head and torso, sculpted bosom inside carved suggestion of stomacher, dowel-jointing at shoulders, elbows, hips & knees, carved heeled shoes, painted-over-gesso complexion & facial features, downcast brown eyes. 18th century, Continental. Exceptional doll whose rarity points include characterized facial features, sculpted stomacher, beautifully shaped legs w painted shoes, modeled bosom.
