This is probably one of my favorite things for my classroom so far. Its a little self-assessment flip chart.  I have made one for each student and it will sit on the corner of their desk.  It is small enough that it wont be embarrassing for the student but its big enough that I can see at a glance who is having trouble with the topic and who is doing fine.  I might not use it for every lesson, but I do think that if I get the kids into the habit of using the flip chart for the first month or…

Here's a terrific idea for handing back papers. Students check their "mail" each day or once a week to find their graded work.

Classroom lottery tickets that kids win, when they've turned in their homework all week long. Could do as individual or class privilege

Each basket has a homework checklist. Each morning, one of the students writes the date for the day and all students check their name off as their homework is turned in. The checklist is kept on top of the stack and the students just place their papers below this top sheet.

Made this with deeper drawers to allow more room for those high school English papers. Also has wheels for easy classroom to office travel.
