They picked their favorite book used a piece of cardstock folded to look like a book with a binding. They illustrated the cover, and wrote a brief summary on the back. We read some summaries on the back of some of the books in our class library and the students noticed that many of them ended in questions. We discussed how the questions left you wanting to read more to find out what happens in the book. add their photo & DONE! (for book review writing unit) good idea!

Bingo - when a student gets bingo they can redeem for a bookmark, etc. Could do a mini version for each of my SPED kids with appropriate leveled books in their book basket or for AR credit.

We could do this on the windows to the storage rooms with dry erase markers or with sticky notes...

peer book recommendations - fun idea for beginning of the year, too - maybe a book you read over the summer.
