1,700-Year-Old Roman Mosaic Discovered During City Sewer Construction Project

A massive, well-preserved 1,700 year-old Roman mosaic was recently unearthed while performing city sewer construction.

One of the oldest Scottish books remaining in Scotland: a psalter nearly 1,000 years old, The Psalms of King David is in Edinburgh University Library. It was probably produced by monks on Iona who were also associated with the making of The Book of Kells and it is thought that the book was written for someone of major importance, with one possibility being St Margaret who was Queen of Scotland around the time it was produced
