Legit changed my life. Apparently the grooved part goes against the scalp, to cause more friction and hold hair better.

WHAT! my whole life is a LIE, am I the only one??? Hmmmm no wonder my hair never stays in place! Mind Blown!

I saw another pin a couple of months ago saying the opposite. I had used bobby pins that way pretty much my whole life & they would NEVER stay in my hair. I saw the pin saying the straight side should be down against your scalp & now I use bobby pins all the time because they actually stay in my hair.

"Make sure the grooved side of the bobby pin is facing down, against the skin. The ribbing is designed to grip hair and lock it in place, and you will capture more hair with the pin in that position." holds my hair so much better. Can't believe I didn't do it before!

I KNEW IT!!! Seriously!!! When I first started using bobby pins in my hair 7th grade, I put them in like that, and people were like "God Alexa you're so dumb they go like this..." and put them in the "right" way. SERIOUSLY?!?!?!

I had no idea... The BEST* way to use a bobby pin is like this: 1. Take bobby pin. 2. Push bobby pin into V-shape. 3. Push bobby pin into hair like a haircomb. So do not slide it across your hair, showing the whole side of the pin, but push the two legs of the pin into your hair and flip back under, then secure pin fully. The only part you will now see is a small bit of the curved top of the bobby pin! The rest is covered by your hair and since the legs of the pin will try to close back up again (remember you've pushed it into a V-shape before) it will be holding your hair securely in place like you've used superglue or a crocodile clip! This is also a great way to secure wigs although sometimes it may feel as though you're trying to shove the bobby pins through your skull (don't worry, that means you're doing it right ). *not necessarily the 'right' or 'correct' way, but works like a charm!
