lines, lines, everywhere! The light coloring makes everything else pop against it (to include the unexpected gold-leaf light fixture), and the lines continue through the walls, ceiling, rug, floor, and stairwell for continuity in rhythm, as well as color
I want to do something like this in my entryway but since it's also my living room, the wainscotting won't work. However, if I extend my mantle for the fireplace along that whole wall (perhaps with bookcases closed/open storage beneath then I could follow that line with a picture rail in my entryway.... Hmmm....
A great way to use a little area by your entrayway. Love the repurposed mini dresser (store off weather gloves, hats, scarves, doggie clothes...) and the shoe storage. May want to do in black though since Travis' work shoes are always dirty. Or, if do white can put in that snazzy drawer paper in the bottom...
Front door do similar bench from one end to other, maybe few shelves for purses, and no hooks, just a mirror with decor shelf above. Neutral grey tile. Shoes under bench. Check if electrical outlet. If so have one shelf out more height of hall table for mood lighting lamp, hold guests keys, etc.
Back wall of garage before enter the house? Simple built-ins to create a mudroom or storage anywhere from a kids room to a laundry room by adding shelves or a deeper bench for sitting. Or instead of custom, buy two thrify store bookcases and paint them, bolt them to your wall and add wainscotting between them. Then pick up a thift store bench and cut it to fit. Add the hooks and you're set.
