Fresh Apple Cinnamon Scones Made these a bit different. Followed the recipe up to the cinnamon chips and applesauce. I substitute butter tickle chips and buttermilk. After forming into two circles I brushed with buttermilk and sprinkled bricked chips on top. They formed a sort of CARMEL like topping. Amazing!
red lobster copycat cheddar bay biscuits -4 cups buttermilk biscuit mix, garlic powder, 3 cups cheddar cheese, 1 1/3 cup milk then butter, oregano, garlic salt for the top - I also added 1/4 cup wheat germ and 1/2 tsp dried chili powder since that's how we like it
This is pretty tasty. I changed it a little. I doubled the recipe, and used 1 cup whole wheat flour and one cup all purpose. Then since my rhubarb was coming out of the freezer I cooked it down to sauce and spread it over the cake batter. A KEEPER!
Blueberry Scones -2 cups all-purpose flour 1/2 cup sugar 1 tablespoon baking powder 1 teaspoon kosher salt 1 tablespoon grated orange zest 1 stick cold unsalted butter, grated 1 large egg, lightly beaten 1/2 cup cold heavy cream 1 cup blueberries, fresh or frozen extra heavy cream for brushing the tops raw sugar for sprinkling the tops - bake 400 bake for 20 to 25 minutes, until the tops are browned and the insides are fully baked.
