The photographs in the exhibition and the accompanying catalogue will create a vivid portrait of the artist, a chronicler of postwar America on a par with such figures as Norman Mailer and Robert Rauschenberg, who unflinchingly captured America’s wrenching swings between optimism and upheaval in the decades following World War II. “When I’m photographing I see life. That’s what I deal with” : #GarryWinogrand — ■ Garry Winogrand pounded the streets of America every day of his life photographing reluctant subjects – and he left behind 6,500 undeveloped films when he died. A powerful new retrospective makes sense of the torrent of imagery by the prolific American master, writes Sean O’Hagan

Garry Winogrand- After looking at Garry Winogrand's work I've come to the conclusion that he is a master at capturing that decisive moment. This photo is no exception his street photography is one of a kind.

Wine, Photos, Paris, Henricartierbresson, Henri Cartier Bresson, Rue Mouffetard, Boy, Photography, Kid
Stereotypically, you would think this kid is French right...ya know, because of the two wine bottles. Well, in fact, you are right. He is. This picture was taken in 1954 by Henri Cartier-Bresson on Rue Mouffetard, Paris. Boy, doesn't he have a cheeky grin.
Photo: Henri Cartier-Bresson, Henri coined the term "The Decisive Moment" and many photographers live by that mantra today. He had an incredible way of anticipating the photograph in a unhindered photojournalistic style. #photojournalism #boy #wine #blackandwhite #photography #henricartierbresson #master #photography

The rules of odds is an often forgotten but so powerful composition rule. Try to pay attention to it and only use and odd number of subjects in your picture. You will notice that the image becomes so much stronger. This works in all types of photography, just take another look to your favourite photographs. For me one of the most important rules that you never really notice until its missing.

Magnificent Underwater Photography by Jacques de Vos I'm terrified of places where I might get vulnerable and exposed to its dangers. My best guess is that underwater I might get devoured by a giant shark or dragged to the bottom of ocean by something with tentacles. But seeing these underwater pictures make my thoughts get lighter and even merrier. This photo really catches the eye and the apeture is just right not too dark
