I know there are people ( cats) who are frightened of a thunder lightning storm. I watch from a safe place...like a deep porch where the wind and the rain mist can be felt thunder heard at full strength each spear of lightening appreciated. Best at the ocean's beach, next by a lake, but not on the Great Plains if there is a tornado watch...that can be a bit more than risky. Those storms are violent and right on top of you.
What I love about this picture most is the tone of the colors. I feel like the shades of light really nicely capture that unique feeling of a summer storm, and it creates a look that feels really genuine and familiar. I feel like gray lighting is something really hard to capture in theatre, but it makes colors pop so incredibly, while still giving them such a unique wash.
