I have never seen/ heard this quote ever before and after watching "How I Met Your Mother" this week I have heard it on the show, seen a FB status quoting it and it just popped up on pinterest. I think someone is trying to tell me something.
"Creativity is subtraction" by Austin Kleon: "One, getting really good at creative work requires a lot of time and attention, and that means cutting a lot of fluff out of your life so that you have that extra time and attention. And two, creativity in our work is often a matter of what we choose to leave out, rather than leave in—what is unspoken vs. spoken, what isn’t shown vs. what is, etc."
Yes! - When I am lying in bed drifting in thought, I will think of a really creative idea or think of something very poignant I want to write. I keep a notebook in the nightstand just for these occasions, so I can capture the thought before I forget. :)
