The University of South Carolina’s commitment to affordability, accessibility and flexibility has once again been recognized by The Princeton Review. USC was ranked as one of the 75 “best value” public colleges and universities in the “150 Best Value Colleges for 2013” list. According to The Princeton Review, the bottom line is “the cost of attending USC is extremely affordable.” Also noted is the high percentage of freshmen receiving financial aid, 92 percent in fall 2012.
The Council for Advancement and Support of Education recently awarded USC’s Division of Communications the Circle of Excellence Gold Award for Institution Wide Branding Program for 2013. The award recognizes Carolina’s Integrated Marketing and Communications Plan, the blueprint behind the university’s No Limits branding/marketing initiative. Go Gamecocks!!
Q and A: Darius Rucker Country music artist Darius Rucker will speak to graduates at the University of South Carolina’s commencement May 11. Rucker, a USC alumnus who met his Hootie and the Blowfish bandmates while he was a Carolina student, also will receive an honorary doctor of music degree at the 9:30 a.m. commencement ceremony. We caught up with him by phone to talk about commencement and his time at USC.
