This is one of my FAVORITE classroom management tools!! It can be soooo time consuming to answer the questions...Can we use markers?, Do we turn this in?, Is this a talking activity? I love using these assignment choice signs to answer those questions without me doing the work. Once I give directions for an activity, I quickly place checks and Xs by the cards and my students know exactly where to look for the answer.

Morning routine: This would be great to introduce the first week of school that way the students know what is expected. You could have the students get their backpacks and go through the schedule together. This would also help because later in the year, the morning would be a relaxing time for all and the teacher could even get some stuff done instead of answering a million questions.

Boggle! Obviously this could be done with a printout or marker, but I just adore the use of magnet letters. It would make a great center, whole group or choice time activity.

Substitute Report

FREE! This has been a life saver for me! I attach this Substitute Report (one for each class) to my lesson plans. It easily allows subs to provide feedback (via a checklist) on class behavior, if they followed my lesson plan, how the students behaved, noise level, areas of difficulty, outstanding students, challenging students, and general comments. I receive the best feedback from my subs now.

Keeping track of those who have turned in work and who have not. Have a list of the students' names and cross them out when the kids turn in their work. So simple!
