Tips

An "I'm Done" jar

A behavior chart that focuses on positive and negative behaviors! All student behavior clips start everyday at Ready To Learn! When students are caught being good, or doing what they are supposed to have them move their behavior clip up to Good Job! Great Job! or Awesome! When students are not making such good choices have them move their behavior clip down to Warning! (think about it), Reflection Time! (10 minutes lost), or Stop! (20 minutes lost).

Mrs. Heeren's Happenings: STAR Behavior System-think I might get rid of the old stoplight cards and try this!

Chalk Posters - Superhero Behavior Clip Chart *Eli loved his class's version of this and wanted me to implement it at home.

You have to love a behavior chart that isn't afraid to get a little SILLY every once and a while. I was CRACKING UP when I saw the "Something Stinks" level on this thing!!!

Behavior Chart. I used a positive behavior chart last year and I only had to move students down MAYBE twice all year. I found I could change behavior by moving others up. It was amazing.

I just started using a clip chart similar to this one. It's very effective and way better than the traditional stoplight behavior system.

A Clip Chart for Behavior. I could potentially do this with the different classes.... Would take some tweaking but good idea!

Demonstrate pollination with cheetos

I need to check this out .... This district has laid out each part of the CCSS and made a unit/scope and sequence to go along with it. They've made a lesson for every part of the core FOR EVERY GRADE! I love that I can pull from this when needed. You can find all of this on the district's website ( just click the icon: {here}, and then you can choose your grade level.

The foldable lets the students use their creativity while having a separate place for the vocabulary words and their definitions.

Good for accountability and self reflection

This is such a cute idea :)

Third Grade Love: desk police

Exit slip board

Have student wrinkle up the paper heart (not tearing it) and then try to flatten it out. Discuss how words or actions can harm a heart and take time to heal.... Good first week of school activity
