Jacobs (I have read his 'My Life as an Experiment' and thoroughly enjoyed) tests out dozens of 'health cures' and advises: short, intense interval training (today I ran HARD for 12 minutes with 30 second breaks throughout), squatting while we poop (whaaaa?), eat an apple or soup before supper, and swishing and spitting a mouthful of sports drink before exercise to fool the body into expecting energy without the calories... lets give it a try!
Enzo knows he is different from other dogs: a philosopher with a nearly human soul (and an obsession with opposable thumbs), he has educated himself by watching television extensively, and by listening very closely to the words of his master, Denny Swift, an up-and-coming race car driver.
This book discusses the ABCs of raising a baby: attention, bonding, and communication. The author included a lot of suggestions for fostering each of the ABCs with your child. I was happy this book included a researched reason why babies under 2 should not watch television. This book also gave me a few more ideas for activities to do with the little one.
A Visit From the Goon Squad These characters walk off the page into your mind if not exactly your heart. The effects of the passage of time on the characters, their values and relationships is the overarching theme in this unconventional but amazing novel.
