This is a poster of Comic #1079, United Shapes. It's a hand-drawn map I made of the United States, with every state replaced by something I've always thought the state was shaped like like. (Florida is an eggplant, of course, what else would it be?) The poster is full-color print from the original art and measures 24 inches by 36 inches.

My beignets might not taste like they came from Louisiana, but now with state-shaped frying pans, they can sure as hell look like it!

cute way to keep track of where you've been-and where you want to go next (would be nice to have a world one too!)

This is a short clip on Manifest Destiny. This film offers great insight on where the idea originated, it explains the idea more thoroughly, and it shows how the United States' expanding West affected the Native Americans. Millions of Americans believed that there was plenty of oppurtunity out West and were encouraged to settle the land.

going to do this for my kids for all the places we've traveled during our PCSing adventures

Amazing Homeschooling EVERYTHING. So going to make my 4th grader do some of these! Hopefully he will think they are "fun" sheets.
